Review of Aichi Bunkyo University ①: Female / Faculty of Humanities, Department of Humanities / Current Student / 2023 Admission
Overall Review
Teachers explain difficult concepts carefully. Due to the small number of students, each person receives more individual attention.
Lectures/Classrooms
It is a school where one can study Japanese culture and language. I am grateful that they have study-abroad programs. The goal of the school is to gain qualifications that match the curriculum.
Laboratories/Seminars
Since I am not yet a member of a seminar, I cannot provide many details. However, observing senior students' presentations shows a high level of quality.
Employment/Advancement
I have the impression that there are many job opportunities in the service industry during the education period. Some students find work where they can use their language skills, such as at airports.
Transportation/Location
There is a school bus, but I am somewhat dissatisfied with the lack of restaurants nearby.
Facilities/Equipment
The facilities are similar to those of other schools. It is relatively beautiful, but overall, it is quite small.
Friends/Romance
I believe that people with common goals can quickly become friends. I have made friends with people who share similar interests.
Student Life
Since it is a small university, I don't think student life will be particularly exciting. It may feel more like a cozy, homey atmosphere.
Review of Aichi Bunkyo University ②: Female / Faculty of Humanities, Department of Humanities / Current Student / 2021 Admission
Overall Review
I think it’s great because I can do what I want to do. However, in the first year, Chinese is the foundational language, which may be challenging for some. But I appreciate the opportunity to study it.
Lectures/Classrooms
I find the lectures fulfilling. However, those who struggle with kanji may find the first year difficult since Chinese is the foundational language.
Laboratories/Seminars
I'm curious if this is particularly the case because it is a humanities field. Perhaps the situation is different for those who plan to teach. I am not a teacher myself.
Employment/Advancement
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it may be difficult for those who intend to work in the aviation industry. It may be more suitable for those interested in teaching.
Transportation/Location
Transportation is convenient, but I wish there were a convenience store or supermarket nearby. It is convenient for those who drive to school.
Facilities/Equipment
I prefer Western-style facilities. I also hope the prices and selection at the campus store could be more affordable. It’s a bit expensive for a university student.
Friends/Romance
I am very satisfied with this aspect. Perhaps because the area is quiet and the student population is small, the environment is good for chatting. As a resident of Gifu Prefecture, there are not many friends I can meet after school.
Student Life
I assume that the student clubs are not very active due to the pandemic. However, I think it’s a good thing to be rewarded in this department. The school festival was held online.
Review of Aichi Bunkyo University ③: Female / Faculty of Humanities, Department of Humanities / Current Student / 2020 Admission
Overall Review
Although there is only one department, it offers three major options. In the first year, all students take general courses, but starting from the second year, students can choose between English, literature, or teaching.
Lectures/Classrooms
I cannot say much about the courses because everything is quite busy, including online components.
Employment/Advancement
All students can choose to participate in language training programs in Taiwan or Cebu. We also have exchange programs with multiple universities, so you can use the credits earned there.
Transportation/Location
The location is very rural and mountainous. The school bus services are from Ichinomiya, Takazouji, and Iwakura. The buses from Takazouji are more frequent.
Facilities/Equipment
It is quite standard for a small school. The classrooms are like university classrooms, with different types of desks and chairs depending on the room. The restrooms are small, and most are in the traditional Japanese style.
Friends/Romance
Perhaps because of the small student body, you can get along with almost everyone, and you may even get to know your senior students.
Student Life
I didn’t find any specific circles that interested me. This year, the school festival was held online.
