As of September 2023, most countries have lifted the border measures implemented due to the new coronavirus infection, leading to a continuous increase in demand for international travel. Particularly, South Korea has implemented visa-free entry since last year, resulting in a higher number of people traveling to South Korea than ever before.
On the other hand, many South Koreans are opting for outbound travel to Japan this year. Recent reports suggest that a significant number of South Koreans are not just visiting tourist destinations but are enjoying their travels for purposes related to "hobbies" or "culture." However, what kind of "culture" is gaining popularity?
To explore this further, we conducted a survey among Generation Z individuals who appreciate each other's cultures. Based on the data from visits to both South Korea and Japan, we will provide an overview of the recent travel trends between these two countries.
