Vibrant Flower Fields
Farm Tomita cultivates various lavender varieties and other flowers based on the season, creating colorful fields that are breathtaking from every angle. From spring to autumn, visitors can enjoy seasonal blooms.
In summer, standing on the gentle hills of Farm Tomita, you can take in the magnificent views of Tokachi-dake and the Furano Basin, perfectly complemented by the vibrant flower fields. Here are some must-see flower fields:
Traditional Lavender Field

- Best Viewing Period: Early to mid-July
The Traditional Lavender Field, the origin of Farm Tomita, is one of Japan’s oldest lavender fields. Frequently featured in media, it has cemented the “Furano = Lavender” image. Climb the gentle slope to enjoy panoramic views of the Furano Basin and Tokachi Mountain Range, making it a must-visit landmark.
Flower Person’s Field

- Best Viewing Period: Early July to late September
The Flower Person’s Field, located near the farm’s entrance, is the first field visitors encounter. Planted with marigolds, violas, and more, it offers vibrant blooms from spring to autumn, showcasing Furano’s diverse floral beauty even outside the lavender season.
Happiness Field (Sakiwai no Hatake)

- Best Viewing Period: Early to mid-July
Adjacent to the Flower Person’s Field, the Happiness Field features lavender varieties like “Nozomi Early Bloom,” “Okamurasaki,” “Yotei,” and “Hanamoiwa,” creating a gradient of purple hues. Named to bring visitors peace and joy, it’s a heartwarming spot.
Forest Color Field (Mori no Sai no Hatake)

- Best Viewing Period: Mid to late July
Located at the farm’s deepest point, the Forest Color Field is surrounded by forest, blending seamlessly with nature. The contrast between the lavender’s purple and the forest’s green is striking, and the view of the Tokachi Mountain Range from the hilltop makes it a top scenic spot.
Indulge in Exquisite Gourmet
Farm Tomita offers more than just flower fields. Visitors can purchase lavender-infused products like perfumes and enjoy dishes made with local vegetables and fruits. The farm’s curry, served at the “Tomita Melon House” next to the flower fields, is a crowd favorite.

Don’t miss the local “Furano Melon.” While Yubari melons may be more famous, Furano melons are equally delectable, with their rich, sweet flesh that melts in your mouth.
Farm Tomita is the ideal destination to experience Hokkaido’s pristine beauty, especially during the lavender bloom in July. With stunning flower fields and authentic gourmet offerings, it’s a must-visit for an authentic Hokkaido experience!
