Reputation and Reviews of Shumei University
Shumei University Reputation ①: Rude Students
Some students cause a commotion in public facilities, while others carelessly throw cigarettes around.
Negative reviews about students are common in most universities.
Shumei University Reputation ②: Attitudes of Faculty and Staff
The attitude of the teaching staff is poor. They often mock students and the public.
This issue is not uncommon.
The university staff are typically younger, as they interact with students, and this sometimes leads to unintended arrogance.
Shumei University Reputation ③: Poor Location
The university is situated quite far from the nearest train station, necessitating a bus transfer.

Furthermore, the bus ride from the nearest station takes approximately 20 minutes.

It is essential to live near the university, but doing so will make life outside of the campus quite inconvenient.
Shumei University is definitely in a poor location.
Shumei University Review ①: Male / School of General Management / Business Management Major / Enrolled in 2024
Overall Evaluation
If you are looking for a job in the administrative field, studying at this university will be beneficial.
While the number of computers is fewer than the number of students, this is actually an advantage, as it guarantees that you can always access them.
Lectures/Classes
The classes are very fulfilling, and the instructors answer your questions accurately.
You can also learn about topics outside of your department.
Employment/Advancement
The courses are largely focused on companies, and there is considerable support.
Additionally, you need not worry about finding a job, as the university has experts to assist you.
Transportation/Location
The school bus is convenient, but I wish there were more bus options.
Facilities/Equipment
No major complaints.
The gym is spacious and easy to use.
The grounds are also large enough.
Friends/Romance
Although the university is not very large, you can form close relationships with people.
Student Life
Although there aren’t many circles, I find this good because it makes for better opportunities to engage in meaningful conversations.
Shumei University Review ②: Female / School of Education / Secondary Teacher Training Program / Enrolled in 2023
Overall Evaluation
The specialized courses offered in this program provide students with the opportunity to strive to become teachers. The faculty are friendly and work hard for our growth.
Lectures/Classes
To become a teacher, there are many initiatives that other universities do not offer, such as evening classes and school support. It’s not an exaggeration to say that this university is the only choice for those who wish to become teachers, as the recruitment rate is extremely high.
Laboratories/Seminars
You can visit the lab during your free time to ask questions, and they will support you until the very end.
Employment/Advancement
It is, without a doubt, the best. Teacher recruitment rates are very high, and while the pressure is significant, I use this as motivation to do my best through various initiatives.
Transportation/Location
There are many convenience stores, Mac shops, ramen, and dessert shops around the area!
Facilities/Equipment
The campus is beautiful and rich in nature, with many classrooms specifically designed for primary school teachers, providing a truly authentic atmosphere.
Friends/Romance
Since we stay in the dorms, it's easy to ask about things we don't understand, and we all cooperate to go to school every day.
Student Life
There are many interesting activities, such as cultural festivals and sports festivals, which help deepen friendships.
Shumei University Review ③: Female / School of Nursing / Nursing Major / Enrolled in 2023
Overall Evaluation
The facilities are comprehensive, allowing for a great deal of practice and self-study. In the nursing school, there are challenging moments, but I believe my friends can become like-minded partners, competitors, helping each other and growing together.
Lectures/Classes
What I find interesting is the wide variety of instructors. Everyone is enthusiastic, and I feel supported by them from the first year as we prepare for national competitions.
Laboratories/Seminars
I have not attended any seminars yet, so I cannot comment on them, as I have no experience with them.
Employment/Advancement
The pass rate for the national nursing exam is high. Many people who took the public health nurse course have also passed the public health nurse exam. I have also spoken with the teachers, and they are very approachable and easy to talk to, so I believe they provide ample career support. Many people find jobs in hospitals or university hospitals where they have trained.
Transportation/Location
There aren’t many shops around the area. It’s quite rural. I ride the school bus or bike to the supermarket, new town for shopping, or dining. The campus has dormitories for those who live far away or come from outside the prefecture. The university is about 30 seconds away, so even if I oversleep, it's not a problem.
Facilities/Equipment
The faculty itself is still new, and the nursing building is clean and well-equipped.
Friends/Romance
There are people dating from other campuses. The student body is small, so if you are in the same department, breaking up can be a bit awkward. Many people in the dorms participate in clubs and have friendships with senior students.
Student Life
Although the school festival is smaller compared to other universities, the events are diverse and fun, offering the opportunity to interact with other departments, which is very interesting.
