Lectures/Classes
When I focused on the Department of History at the Faculty of Letters, I decided to take the entrance exam. Especially in Japanese history, there are many professors, so various types of lectures are available.
Employment/Advancement
I'm just a first-year student, so I don't have much experience, but the website also provides information on the employment rate of graduates. I think the support is already in place, as I frequently receive notifications about the university's counseling center.
Transportation/Location
I’m at the Shibuya campus, so there are no issues accessing it. It's a 10 to 15-minute walk from the station.
Facilities/Equipment
The buildings at both the Shibuya and Tama Plaza campuses are very new, clean, and open.
Friends/Romance
There are many clubs and societies, so I think it's easy to make friends. Some people seem to be couples.
Student Life
Since there are various types of circles, I think it’s easy to find something you like. Perhaps due to the focus on Japanese history, there are also related circles.

Kokugakuin University's Review ③: Female / Faculty of Letters, Department of Japanese Literature / Current Student / 2024 Enrollment
Overall Evaluation
I think this is a great place for those who seriously want to study Japanese literature and Japanese language research. The professors are very supportive.

Many of the professors are literature geeks, and they seem very happy and passionate when they teach, which is very interesting.
Employment/Advancement
Many people seem to work in fields related to publishing. It appears that not many go into hospitals.
Transportation/Location
It’s quite good in terms of Shibuya, but a little disappointing that it's a 15-minute walk from the station. The bus stops right in front of the university, so I use it when the weather is too hot or when I have a lot of luggage.
Facilities/Equipment
I think the campus is very beautiful.
The Wakaki Auditorium, used for club activities and circles, is quite old.
Friends/Romance
The Department of Japanese Literature doesn’t have any seminars, and it’s not a department where you can make many friends. I think if you join a circle, you can function normally.

My impression is that we put more effort into traditional Japanese activities like Tanabata and Girls' Day than other universities, but I think the school festival isn’t very lively.
