Review of Kyoto University of Education①: Female Student / School Education Teacher Training Program / Enrolled in 2023
Overall Review
The teacher training courses are solid. Those who aim to become elementary school teachers may find it challenging due to the requirement of completing many credits.
Lectures / Classes
We offer not only comprehensive courses to help you become a teacher but also facilities that allow you to study in your specialized field.
Employment / Advancement
This university is not suitable for those seeking non-teaching jobs. However, if you want to become a teacher, it’s a perfect fit. Various seminars and counseling sessions are regularly held.
Transportation / Location
There are convenience stores, bakeries, and restaurants nearby. Keihan and JR stations are also conveniently close.
Facilities / Equipment
There are study rooms, piano practice rooms, and art production studios. I never worry about finding a place to study. The cafeteria can get crowded.
Friends / Romance
It’s easy to spend time with friends who share similar aspirations. Overall, there are many serious students.
Student Life
The school festival is full of fun, with many mock booths and activities. Circle activities are also diverse.
Review of Kyoto University of Education②: Female Student / School Education Teacher Training Program / Enrolled in 2023
Overall Review
I believe this is a very good environment for those who want to become teachers. However, due to the university’s policies, it is unavoidable. If you want to be a high school teacher, you will need to self-study certain subjects. Most of the students here aim to become elementary or junior high school teachers.
Lectures / Classes
I major in science. Every teacher carefully guides you.
Physical education is a mandatory course, but I can also attend music lectures, so I gain broad knowledge while having fun.
Employment / Advancement
Information on teacher recruitment exams in various prefectures is provided, along with teacher recruitment seminars.
Transportation / Location
There is one JR station and one Keihan train station nearby, both within walking distance, so the location is convenient. Kyoto Station is about 15 minutes away. However, there aren’t many convenience stores or restaurants around.
Facilities / Equipment
All classrooms and restrooms are very clean. The rich natural surroundings make it ideal for biological experiments.
However, there are quite a few insects. Mosquitoes, in particular, are large and strong, so it's recommended to bring insect repellent and wear long sleeves and pants during the orientation.
Friends / Romance
Due to the small student body, everyone gets along well. It feels like the class remains the same for all four years.
In my impression, there are frequent romances within the circles.
Student Life
There are various circles! The organizing committee is working hard to prepare for activities. Right after enrollment, all first-year students participate in a sports festival, and students from all over quickly become friends!
Review of Kyoto University of Education③: Male Student / School Education Teacher Training Program / Enrolled in 2022
Overall Review
If you dedicate yourself, you can become a teacher and find stable employment. Apart from that, I think it’s wonderful to be able to enjoy a fulfilling university life.
Lectures / Classes
Overall, I am satisfied, but when it comes to large classes, I noticed that many people are chatting with their friends.
Laboratories / Seminars
I have no major complaints, but I don’t think there are any particularly outstanding advantages either.
Employment / Advancement
Since it’s a university focused on education, I believe most people will be able to secure teaching positions if they put in the effort.
Transportation / Location
The station is a 3-5 minute walk, and there are many convenience stores nearby. However, many people say it’s difficult to run uphill, and indeed, it is.
Facilities / Equipment
I think it’s a bit dirtier compared to private universities, but if you ask me if it’s really dirty, it’s not that bad. However, due to the many trees, there are a lot of insects, so those who are not fond of them may find it difficult.
Friends / Romance
Due to the small size of the university, it’s easy to form deep connections with friends. Additionally, I have the impression that there are many couples dating within the circles.
Student Life
The circles are very interesting. I think everyone is working hard and encouraging each other, which is really great.
