Reviewing the results of the 2024 Japanese National College Entrance Examination, we summarized the number of applicants, actual acceptance rates, and rejection rates for national technical universities. Tokyo Institute of Technology had the highest number of applicants, while Kyoto Institute of Technology had the highest actual acceptance rate.
According to Kawaijuku, the first-phase application numbers for national and public university entrance exams were 100% compared to the previous year, the second phase was 100%, and the mid-term was 98%, all consistent with last year. Looking at individual department systems, the number of applicants for "Engineering" remained unchanged at 100 from the previous year, while the "Information" system, including Comprehensive Information, Environment, and Information and Human Resources, continued to attract student attention. There has been a 107% increase in attention compared to the previous year, while the "Communication/Information" system decreased by 96% over the same period.
Risemamu compiled data on the number of applicants, actual acceptance rates, and rejection rates for eight universities including the University of Electrical Communication, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Nagoya Institute of Technology, Kyoto Institute of Technology, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Kyushu Institute of Technology, Muroran Institute of Technology, and Kitami Institute of Technology. Each value is based on the "2024 Entrance Examination Results" published on the Yoyogi Workshop website.
Among these eight universities, Tokyo Institute of Technology had the highest number of applicants, with 4,961 people, followed by Nagoya Institute of Technology (4,386 people), Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (4,153 people), and University of Electrical Communication (4,115 people).
The university with the most applicants was Tokyo Institute of Technology, with 3,758 students, followed by Nagoya Institute of Technology with 3,153 students, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology with 2,892 students, University of Electrical Communication with 2,805 students, and Kyoto Institute of Technology with 2,372 students.
Kyoto Institute of Technology had the highest actual acceptance rate at 3.683 times, followed by Tokyo Institute of Technology at 3.426 times, University of Electrical Communication at 3.380 times, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology at 3.154 times, and Nagoya Institute of Technology at 3.035 times.
Tokyo Institute of Technology had the lowest rejection rate at 0.9%, followed by Kyushu Institute of Technology (7.5%), Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (7.5%), Nagoya Institute of Technology (7.8%), and Kyoto Institute of Technology (7.9%). The rejection rate is calculated based on the difference between successful applicants and admitted students, divided by the number of successful applicants.
