Review of Otsuma Women's University①: Female / Comparative Culture Department / Current Student / Enrolled in 2023

Overall Evaluation
Understanding other cultures is crucial for seeking coexistence, but the Comparative Culture Department goes beyond this. It encourages re-evaluating one's own culture and comparing it with others, focusing not only on understanding others but also on deepening self-awareness.

Lectures/Classes
The courses are roughly half offline and half online, making learning convenient. Assignments are not overwhelming, but one must be careful not to become too relaxed, as it can lead to falling behind.

Laboratories/Seminars
As a first-year student, I haven't participated in any seminars yet, so I cannot provide an evaluation.

Employment/Advancement
As stated in the brochure, the university has a record of placing students in renowned companies, which is commendable compared to other universities with similar entrance scores.

Transport/Location
The Chiyoda Campus is easily accessible from Ichigaya, Hanzomon, and Kudanshita stations.

Facilities/Equipment
The Chiyoda Campus includes a restaurant, café, convenience store, and a library with a rich collection of books.

Friends/Romance
Upon entering the women's university, I realized the fearsome reputation was just a prejudice. I believe we can establish very normal interpersonal relationships.

Student Life
There are many clubs and societies on campus. However, many students also join intercollegiate clubs. Participation in the sports festival and cultural festival is mostly free and can be chosen according to personal preference.

It's advantageous for students aspiring to become nursery teachers since observation training starts in the first year. Additionally, the university has a permanent playroom called Gumii for local children, providing an environment for students to interact with kids.

Lectures/Classes
I enjoy the courses where we play with children, and my fondness for kids has grown since entering university.

Employment/Advancement
You can choose subjects that broaden your employment and advancement perspectives, such as career design, which is not covered in mandatory courses.

Transport/Location
The nearest stations are Kudanshita, Ichigaya, and Hanzomon. The location is convenient for accessing Shibuya and other areas, although there are only convenience stores around Kudanshita station.

Facilities/Equipment
The buildings vary, but all are generally beautiful. There are two cafeterias offering various desserts, such as parfaits and other sweets ^_^

Friends/Romance
Though I am not in any club, I am enjoying a fulfilling student life! The Department of Child Studies has many studious individuals ^_^

Student Life
There are sports festivals and Otsuma festivals (cultural festivals). I haven't participated yet, but each department seems to compete in the sports festivals, so I look forward to it ^_-☆
