The Reputation and Evaluation of Saga University

Reputation of Saga University ①: Location Issues

Access to Saga University is not very convenient.

The nearest station is a 10-minute drive away, and there are not many bus services.

If you don't have a car, it can be quite inconvenient.

Reputation of Saga University ②: Well-Maintained Campus

The academic buildings are exceptionally beautiful. They don't feel like a national university.

Since you will spend four years there, the cleanliness of the campus and buildings is of utmost importance.

The Prestige of Saga University: Vibrant Students

It seems that the students of Saga University are quite lively.

Therefore, events like the school festival are quite splendid.

Those who appreciate activities of such nature will find delight in it.

Evaluation of Saga University: Female Students / Nursing Department / Current Students / Admitted in 2023

Comprehensive Evaluation
I appreciate the environment where nursing training can commence from the first year. Collaboration skills can also be nurtured through group work. Rest assured, counseling services are also provided.

Lectures/Classes
Its charm lies in the region-specific courses offered, along with nursing internships starting from the first year.

Employment/Promotion
Many of our graduates have secured positions in university hospitals or local medical centers. The pass rate for national exams is also commendable.

Transportation/Location
The surrounding area is tranquil, with limited recreational options, enabling students to focus on their studies. There are also many affordable rental places. Unfortunately, the train station is quite distant.

Facilities/Equipment
I find it highly gratifying. There is a library and an art museum, which I enjoy visiting after school hours.

Friends/Romance
Many individuals participate in clubs, diligently volunteer or work part-time, enriching their lives.

Student Life
This circle is distinct from the medical school and the main campus. There is interaction.

Evaluation of Saga University ②: Male Students / Faculty of Science and Engineering / Current Students / Enrollment in 2023

Comprehensive Evaluation
Before you embark on your complete coursework, the content you study is essentially the same no matter where you are, so most of it is foundational. You may find this of greater interest.

Lectures/Classes
In the first half of the first year, most of the content is similar to that of high school, so it's like a review.

Employment/Promotion
Due to the mentorship system, we have two opportunities for discussions every year, and we are also open to other consultations.

Transportation/Location
There is only one train at the station, but there are approximately 2-3 trains per hour, so you may need to wait after class.

Facilities/Equipment
As I mentioned before, there is no place to park bicycles near the building before the lectures start, as the parking spaces are quite limited.

Friends/Romance
I believe that the more you participate in clubs, the more you will engage with others.

Student Life
The activities within the circle are quite interesting, although the overall participation is generally low.

Evaluation of Saga University ③: Male Students / Faculty of Medicine / Current Students / Enrollment in 2023

Comprehensive Evaluation
Compared to other undergraduate departments, our rest and study time is generally limited. Nevertheless, it remains a subject that requires rigorous assessment. Is this the case for all medical schools?

Lectures/Classes
Since moving to the Gotōjima campus, my knowledge of the institution is limited, but there are not many courses available to choose from within the medical school campus. It is challenging for me to attend lectures after work as they have a high magnification factor.

Employment/Promotion
It is said that compared to other countries, the pass rate for national medical examinations is quite high. However, like in all medical schools, the retention rate is high (especially for male students), and if you are unable to graduate directly, your chances of success decrease.

Transportation/Location
While this may be the case for the entire Saga Prefecture, I believe that the rent is affordable and the living conditions are favorable due to the abundance of land. Most people reside near the campus, within a walking distance of less than 10 minutes, so they commute on foot or by bicycle. I also live alone, and I can see the university from my home.

Facilities/Equipment
The Gotōjima campus has a library and small training rooms, but they are not open 24 hours. The university cafeteria is also only open during weekdays for lunch. The facilities at the Honjō campus seem to be more comprehensive.

Friends/Romance
There are many kind-hearted individuals. However, due to the small size of the medical department with approximately 100 students per year, and around 60 students in the nursing department, it may not be suitable for those who seek to make a large number of friends. When considering the nursing department, the gender ratio is approximately 1:2, but due to limited interaction outside of club activities, most of the nursing students are female, while the medical students are predominantly female. The department consists of roughly equal proportions of male and female students.

Student Life
There are few clubs on the Gotōjima campus, and many of the club activities are serious in nature. The grading system is also strict, so if you prefer a more relaxed environment, I recommend attending the main campus.
