Student Review ①: Male / Department of Instrumental Music / Current Student / Enrolled in 2023

Overall Assessment
It is a huge misconception to think that art universities are full of geniuses. For better or worse, about 80% of the students are ordinary people.

Lectures/Classes
You can receive high-level music education and courses. However, the quality of general subjects varies.

Laboratories/Seminars
Classes are about once a week, depending on the instructor. The courses are very fulfilling.

Employment/Advancement
Not many students seek traditional jobs; many become freelance musicians.

Transport/Location
It’s a 10-minute walk from Ueno, making it very convenient. The ginkgo trees in autumn have a foul odor.

Facilities/Equipment
Very outdated. I heard that a skylight in the art department fell, the walls in the music department are peeling, and there is graffiti everywhere.

Friends/Romance
As in any university, relationships are not as close as in high school. You need to actively make friends to form close relationships.

Student Life
There are many music-related clubs, which are very fulfilling. There is also a regular sports club.

Student Review ②: Female / Department of Painting / Current Student / Enrolled in 2023

Overall Assessment
It’s a very good university for those who want to attend. Most facilities are new and easy to use.

Lectures/Classes
Very fulfilling. I feel very satisfied as diversity and individual perspectives are respected.

Laboratories/Seminars
I personally find these exercises very interesting. It’s also a good idea to commend the workshops you’re interested in.

Employment/Advancement
It’s very good. I want to create animation videos, and the track record and support are excellent.

Transport/Location
I personally prefer taking the bus, but some students drive there.

Facilities/Equipment
Although there are some new facilities, it still feels like a very nice old school in many ways.

Friends/Romance
I made many friends in clubs. I am glad it is a large university.

Student Life
There aren’t many clubs, but I find them all very fulfilling.

Student Review ③: Male / Department of Design / Current Student / Enrolled in 2022

Overall Assessment
It’s a great department with a good environment and study atmosphere. It also has the advantage of allowing individuals to concentrate.

Lectures/Classes
Personally, I find the course content a bit challenging, but it is very rewarding as it is summarized in an easy-to-understand manner.

Employment/Advancement
They support students so they can work independently using the skills they have learned.

Transport/Location
Conveniently located near the station, with convenience stores nearby.

Facilities/Equipment
The facilities are clean and comfortable, though some areas show signs of deterioration.

Friends/Romance
I have good relationships within the department; everyone is kind, making it easy to adapt.

Student Life
Many clubs are easy to choose from, as they are not too selective.
