In the latest release of the Forbes Global Billionaires List, the number of billionaires with assets exceeding $1 billion (approximately ¥152 billion) reached 2,781, marking a historic high. These billionaires collectively hold a total asset of $14.2 trillion (approximately ¥2,150 trillion), also setting a new record.
The number of countries and regions represented by billionaires on the list has reached 78 (up from 77 in 2023). The United States tops the list with 813 individuals, reaching a historic high. The total assets held also reached a record high of $5.7 trillion (approximately ¥864 trillion).
This surge is primarily attributed to the addition of 97 newcomers to the list, including Taylor Swift, NBA legend Magic Johnson, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

The second country with the most billionaires is China (excluding Hong Kong millionaires). The list includes 406 individuals with a total asset of approximately $1.3 trillion. However, last year's ranking included 496 individuals with a total asset of around $1.67 trillion.
India, the second most populous country in the world, has 200 individuals on the list, with 25 newcomers. Their total assets amount to $954 billion.
In Germany, the fourth-ranked country, the co-founders of Munich unicorn company Celonis, Martin Klenk, Bastian Nominahel, and Alexander Linke, made their debut on the list. Russia, ranked fifth, continues its attacks on Ukraine. The number of billionaires is 120, an increase of 15 from last year and 37 from 2022.
