Hosei University Reputation and Evaluation
Hosei University Reputation ①: Prominent Campus
Hosei University's campus is striking due to its large size.
Here is Hosei University's campus map.

Hosei University Reputation ②: MARCH/Tokyo Five Universities
Hosei University is included in MARCH.
MARCH represents the following five prestigious private universities in the Kanto region.
- M: Meiji University
- A: Aoyama Gakuin University
- R: Rikkyo University
- C: Chuo University
- H: Hosei University
This is the Kanto version of the Ivy League, with each university having its unique charm.
Hosei University Reputation ③: New Buildings, Yet Solitude
As the teaching buildings are new, the quaint old-style buildings are becoming increasingly scarce, and the essence of the prestigious universities is fading.
There are many comments similar to this. The atmosphere of "old universities" is quite popular.
Due to seismic performance issues, the gradual phase-out of old buildings is unavoidable.
Hosei University Evaluation ①: Female Students / Department of English Literature in the Faculty of Literature / Current Student / Admission in 2023
Overall Evaluation
The female ratio is slightly higher. My impression is that students get along well with each other, giving the impression of being sophisticated yet proactive.
Lectures/Classes
Most courses are lecture-based, but there are also participatory courses. Through group discussions and sharing opinions, the classroom content becomes more enriching.
Laboratories/Seminars
I am still a freshman, so I haven't participated in any seminars yet. However, from what I've heard from seniors, it seems quite fulfilling, so I'm looking forward to it.
Employment/Promotion
I don't know yet, but I believe the support is solid. We are working hard to regularly provide internships and career counseling.
Transportation/Location
The location is excellent, within a 10-minute walk from the station. It's strategically located for quick access to Shinjuku and nearby places like Yasukuni Shrine and Budokan.
Facilities/Equipment
The buildings are always clean because there are cleaning staff members.
Friends/Romance
Quite fulfilling. Since the courses are lecture-based, we don't really get to know each other in class, but there are many opportunities for conversations in required courses. I often make friends there. My impression is that it's easier to develop romantic relationships within a circle.
Student Life
I think there are many circles. There are many mysterious circles like flash circles and scrubbing circles, so it should be easy to find the circle you want to join.
Hosei University Evaluation ②: Male Students / Department of Japanese Literature in the Faculty of Literature / Current Student / Admission in 2023
Overall Evaluation
I believe interesting classes come from interesting teachers. Many of my friends are bookworms, so I think most of them are quite intelligent. If you enjoy creating stories and have deep thoughts, I think this faculty is very suitable for you.
Lectures/Classes
They have great professors who are willing to answer your questions. You will delve into the subjects you're interested in.
Laboratories/Seminars
Seminars start from the second year. I'm just a year old, so I'm not quite sure.
Employment/Promotion
Speaking of the Faculty of Literature, I feel there's a strong impression that they are not good at finding jobs, but many of our seniors have landed jobs in major companies.
Transportation/Location
I think the location is perfect because it's between Ichigaya and Iidabashi.
Facilities/Equipment
It's a city campus, so it's small, but I think you'll have a comfortable time amidst tall buildings.
Friends/Romance
I have many friends. I think it's all about your efforts.
Student Life
The club I'm in has many activities like training camps and parties.
Hosei University Evaluation ③: Female Students / Department of Modern Business in the Faculty of Economics / Current Student / Admission in 2023
Overall Evaluation
I think it's an interesting course where you can make friends and be surrounded by nature. People often say that the Department of Modern Business is the best economics department at Hosei University.
Lectures/Classes
Because it's a real school, you can choose elective courses unlike in the Faculty of Economics! I took elective courses like career design, political science, and world history. No compulsory courses involving calculus, for instance. You can take Business Mathematics as an elective (I think you should). That's about it.
Laboratories/Seminars
I don't know the specifics because I'm not a member of seminars yet, but I remember there's a bulletin board in the Economics Building where you can see a list of seminars, and there are many of them.
Employment/Promotion
I think it's okay. You can also get the support you want through applications.
Visits/Location
I highly recommend it because it's filled with a natural atmosphere.
Facilities/Equipment
I think money is poured into Ichigaya, like beautiful buildings and power outlets at every desk. If you want to attract people to Tama, you should make the campus more beautiful.
Friends/Romance
You can make a lot of friends! Everyone is lovely and stylish. Gender relations are also good.
Student Life
I see the school festival and summer festival are ongoing, with groups performing on stage.
