Evaluation ①: Female/Living Sciences Department/School of Human Life/Student Enrolled in 2022
Overall Evaluation: I find it splendid as one can freely pursue their interests. However, the experience can vary based on individual perspectives, so there might be both advantages and drawbacks.
Lectures/Classes: There's a wide array of courses available, and they're relatively affordable. However, compared to other universities, there are also several challenges.
Employment/Promotion: The school provides comprehensive employment support, and you can also seek advice through LINE or Slack.
Transportation/Location: The location is excellent, just two stops away from Ikebukuro, with many supermarkets nearby.
Facilities/Equipment: There's only one campus, and it's rather small. However, the dormitory facilities are modern and well-maintained.
Friendship/Romance: I believe many individuals here possess resilient spirits. I've been able to forge friendships here that I couldn't have made anywhere else!
Student Life: There are few officially recognized clubs at Ochanomizu University.
Evaluation ②: Female/Department of Chemistry/School of Science/Student Enrolled in 2022
Overall Evaluation: The professors and classmates are genuinely wonderful people! I wasn't the brightest high school student, and university courses were challenging for me, but with everyone's help, I managed to persevere through university. I'm very satisfied with the Chemistry Department.
Lectures/Classes: Most importantly, due to the small number of students, I'm pleased to receive very thorough courses. The experiments require only about 20 people! In the Los Angeles (Liberal Arts) courses, if they're not compulsory, students can freely choose courses of their interest. All departments are located on one campus, so one can study various subjects like Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Employment/Promotion: I haven't yet considered my career path, but it seems that last year's fourth-year students mostly went to Ochanomizu University's graduate school. I'm not very familiar with employment.
Transportation/Location: The nearest station is the Marunouchi Line's Myogadani Station, just two stops away from Ikebukuro, a beautiful city! There are many schools around me, so I enjoy the quiet atmosphere. Chuo University is right in front of the station, so I envy the students of Chuo University a bit; they only have to walk about five minutes, haha.
Facilities/Equipment: The campus is spacious enough, both in terms of location and population, so you can relax! The Chemistry Department uses the renovated No. 1 Building of the School of Science, which is very beautiful; you wouldn't think it's a national building. Most importantly, the library is clean and convenient! The campus is lush with trees, and there are cute cats taken for walks by students.
Friendship/Romance: Since there are fewer students, you can make friends with everyone in the department! There are also experiments. As for romance... expecting it from university seems unreasonable.
Student Life: As it's a small university, there aren't many active clubs on campus, mostly intercollegiate clubs. We'll prepare for the Keion Festival starting in the spring! I'm looking forward to the relaxed supervision.
