The University Popularity Rankings In Japan As of The End of January 2024

JS Corporation released the "Japanese University Popularity Rankings" at the end of January. According to the statistics as of January 31, 2024, the rankings in the minds of 197,176 Japanese high school students are as follows: National University "University of Tokyo," Public University "Osaka Public University," Private University "Aoyama Gakuin University." In the national version, the 13th and 14th positions of private schools have once again exchanged. In the Tokyo region version, Yokohama National University has risen to the third position.

In the popularity rankings of Japanese universities, "University of Tokyo" ranks first, "Tsukuba University" ranks second, "Kyoto University" ranks third, "Osaka University" ranks fourth, and "Nagoya University" ranks fifth. Among the top 30 schools, only Hirosaki University has risen three places from the last 30th to 27th, followed by Niigata University at 28th, Okayama University at 29th, and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies at 30th.

Public universities are as follows: First place "Osaka Public University," second place "Tokyo Metropolitan University," third place "Nagoya City University," fourth place "Shizuoka Prefectural University," and fifth place "Kitakyushu City University." Although the top 10 schools remain unchanged compared to the last survey, looking at the top 20, Fukuoka Prefectural University, which was ranked 11th last time, has moved to 13th, and Kagoshima Prefectural Junior College has moved from 17th to 17th. Both rankings have dropped by 2 places to 19th.

Private universities are as follows: First place "Aoyama Gakuin University," second place "Keio University," third place "Kinki University," fourth place "Meiji University," and fifth place "Waseda University."
