Jetstar Japan has resumed operations between Tokyo and Shanghai, effective December 18th, with four weekly round-trip flights.
Reportedly, this route operates four times a week, departing from Tokyo/Narita on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and departing from Shanghai/Pudong on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The aircraft in service is the Airbus A320. Economy class "Starter" one-way tickets start at ¥408, with no fuel surcharge, additional management fees, and airport facility usage fees apply.

The Tokyo/Narita to Shanghai/Pudong route is the first route to mainland China operated by a Japanese low-cost carrier (LCC), inaugurated on June 2, 2017, with four weekly flights, now expanded to a daily itinerary. The route was temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This marks Jetstar's fourth international flight resumption.
The inaugural flight, GK35, departs from Tokyo/Narita at 10:36 PM, arriving in Shanghai/Pudong at 1:06 AM the next day. The return flight, GK36, departs from Shanghai/Pudong at 2:24 AM, arriving in Tokyo/Narita at 6:12 AM.
