Review of University of Yamanashi ①: Female / Department of Human Development, Faculty of Human Welfare / Current Student / Enrolled in 2024
Overall Evaluation
I think this is the perfect university for studying education, especially early childhood education. There are many teachers who are passionate about the field of education.
Lectures/Courses
The lectures are very interesting.
You can professionally study education and child development, and starting from the first year, you’ll receive some light practical training to get a feel for the workplace.
Many teachers have field experience, and you can sense their “love for children” in their words.
Employment/Advancement
Most graduates from this school work at nurseries and schools within and outside the prefecture, while some also join regular companies.
I’m not yet sure if there’s job-hunting support suitable for my grade level.
Transportation/Location
It’s about a 15-minute bike ride from Kofu Station.
It takes around 10 minutes to walk to the nearest convenience store.
If you have a bike, it’s not an issue, but that doesn’t mean there are lots of shops within walking distance.
I don’t think there’s anything particularly noteworthy about it. It’s really quite normal.
Since we’re not in a science-related field, we don’t have any equipment for experiments, but we do have a full set of tools for practical training and simulated classes, like baby dolls.
Friends/Romance
The department has about 30 people, and while we’re not all super friendly, we’re not hostile either. In a good way, it’s pretty normal.
I don’t understand romantic relationships.
Student Life
Compared to other public and large private universities, it’s smaller in scale.
Since there are faculties of welfare and nursing, there are also a lot of volunteer clubs.
Whether it feels rewarding depends on the individual. I’m having fun.
Review of University of Yamanashi ②: Female / Department of Nursing, Faculty of Nursing / Current Student / Enrolled in 2023
Overall Evaluation
Since everyone has the same goal of becoming a nurse, I can study seriously and enjoyably, which is great.
Lectures and Courses
It’s tough but interesting.
Labs/Seminars
I don’t know much about it yet, but it’s good.
Employment/Advancement
I think it’s probably good, with lots of advantages. It’s tough but interesting.
Transportation/Location
Beautiful and kind. Very nice. A bit far from the station. It’d be better with a car.
It’s sturdy and looks a bit old. Other than that, it’s fine.
Friends/Romance
There are a lot of girls. You can interact with many people. There are people from all sorts of backgrounds, which is very interesting.
Student Life
Very fulfilling, with lots of fun. Very good.
Review of University of Yamanashi ③: Male / Department of Welfare Community, Faculty of Human Welfare / Current Student / Enrolled in 2023
Overall Evaluation
Since it’s a welfare department, everyone is very friendly. I think it’s good for people who want a relaxed university life. However, there are more noisy students in the Faculty of International Policy, so you need to be cautious.
Lectures and Courses
All the teachers are friendly and teach carefully. There are a lot of reports. There are many courses where you can earn credits quite easily. However, in many courses, the teachers just lecture, so it’s natural to feel sleepy.
Employment/Advancement
The course is designed to help students obtain social worker qualifications, so if students attend classes seriously from the first year, they can achieve pretty good academic results.
Transportation/Location
It’s close to Kofu Station. There are few restaurants. Traffic is congested. There are many apartments in the area, so it’s convenient to live nearby.
It’s very small. However, I wanted to attend a quiet university, so I’m satisfied. I think it’s not suited for those who want a glamorous campus life.
Friends/Romance
The welfare department has more women than men, so they tend to stick together easily. However, you should be careful because there might be situations where there are no men in the house at all.
Student Life
There are few clubs, and the scale of activities is small. It’s not flashy, but it has a relaxed atmosphere, which I like.
