Reputation and Evaluation of Tokyo Metropolitan University
Tokyo Metropolitan University Reputation ①: Naturally Rich Campus
Below is a map of the Tokyo Metropolitan University campus.

This is a very spacious and nature-filled campus.
Tokyo Metropolitan University Reputation ②: Close to the Station
Tokyo Metropolitan University is a 5-minute walk from the nearest station, Minami-Osawa Station.
You can reach Minami-Osawa Station directly from Shinjuku Station without transferring, so the location is very convenient.
If you want to go out, you can take the train to Shinjuku Station for entertainment.
Tokyo Metropolitan University Reputation ③: Delicious School Cafeteria
The school's meals are both affordable and delicious.
There are many positive reviews about Tokyo Metropolitan University's school cafeteria.
The cafeteria is only one, so it may be crowded at times, but it is very popular.
Tokyo Metropolitan University Evaluation ①: Female / Faculty of Science / Department of Life Sciences / Current Student / Enrolled in 2023
Overall Evaluation
I think this is a very good university for students who want to study at university. There is a large library, which is very useful for research.
Lectures/Classes
I am interested in biology, so all the courses are very fulfilling and interesting.
Employment/Promotion
Approximately 70-80% of students in the department continue to graduate school. There are also plenty of job opportunities afterwards.
Transportation/Location
There are many places to eat, and it's close to the station, which is perfect. It is surrounded by beautiful nature.
Facilities/Equipment
Almost all classrooms are clean. However, some classrooms have uncomfortable straight-backed chairs.
Friends/Dating
I have made some very good friends in the same department. Many people in the department are dedicated to studying, so it can be a bit boring at times.
Student Life
There are many activities, such as training camps. There are two main activities in summer and winter depending on the circle.
Tokyo Metropolitan University Evaluation ②: Female / Faculty of Urban Environmental Sciences / Department of Tourism Sciences / Current Student / Enrolled in 2023
Overall Evaluation
It's relatively free, and it's easy to take elective courses in other humanities subjects, so I'm satisfied because I'm not strongly passionate about tourism. There are about the same number of students in the department as in a high school class, so I find it easy to communicate with each other. The buildings around the department are also naturally rich, and I'm satisfied with that.
Lectures/Classes
You can get a broad perspective on the tourism industry. In addition, compared to other departments, it's relatively easy to take elective courses in other fields of humanities, so even those who are not strongly interested in tourism are recommended. You can also choose to minor in subjects like mathematical data science or human health science, giving you a wide range of knowledge.
Employment/Promotion
I'm a first-year undergraduate student, so I don't know the details, but it seems that everyone chooses various career paths, even if it's unrelated to tourism. It seems that about half of them have gone to hospitals.
Transportation/Location
The nearest station is Minami-Osawa Station, which is far from the city center, so it's recommended for those who want to go to Tokyo but also want to spend relaxing time. Also, during class, it's about a 10-minute walk from the southern gate of the campus (the closest entrance to Minami-Osawa Station), which can be a bit inconvenient at times. However, it's recommended to alleviate the lack of exercise.
Facilities/Equipment
I'm a first-year undergraduate student, so I don't have many professional classes, so I don't know much, but there is a rich natural environment around, and there are many large buildings. I don't think this will be a problem for research.
Friends/Dating
The Department of Tourism Sciences may have the fewest students among Tokyo Metropolitan University departments, with only 35 students in 2023. So I think it's relatively easy to talk to each other. However, as a first-year undergraduate student, I can't say much about this because I don't have the opportunity to talk about it except in class.
Student Life
I feel that there are many different types of clubs, and I think they are all fulfilling. I'm also looking forward to the school festival.
Tokyo Metropolitan University Evaluation ③: Female / Faculty of Economics / Department of Economic and Business Sciences / Current Student / Enrolled in 2023
Overall Evaluation
It's very convenient because it's close to the school gate and there are limited classrooms. I also like the library. You can also listen to lectures by famous professors.
Lectures/Classes
It depends on the professor. Some lectures are very interesting, while others are just loud readings of resumes.
Lab/Seminars
I can't say much because it hasn't started yet. I'm looking forward to it.
Employment/Promotion
To be honest, I don't know much about this yet, but I've heard that many science majors continue to graduate school.
Transportation/Location
I'm satisfied because there are basically everything around the university, such as karaoke, outlets, and Starbucks.
Facilities/Equipment
The classrooms are large, but there is no air conditioning, so it gets very hot in the summer. I hope something can be done about this!
Friends/Dating
To be honest, it's hard to find like-minded friends, but if you have a few friends, I think you won't have any problems in university!
Student Life
There are many different types of clubs, and I think they are all fulfilling. I'm also looking forward to the school festival.
