Tokyo Haneda Airport Clash: Chinese Tourist Shouts “Taiwan Belongs to China”

On December 18, 2025, a video shot at Tokyo's Haneda Airport went viral on X, quickly spreading across the platform and sparking heated debate.

The clip shows a female tourist from mainland China arguing loudly with Taiwanese passengers in the waiting area. He shouted, "Taiwan is China" and told them to "get the policy straight", while also accusing them of snatching seats.

The footage shows three mainland tourists – a woman and two men – confronting the Taiwanese travelers. The woman, who was clearly upset, continued pointing her finger and repeating that "Taiwan is China" and insisting that "you have to listen to China."

When Taiwanese passengers tried to explain the situation to airport staff in Japanese, the woman ignored them and exclaimed "Speaking dog language? Speak human!" Such shocking lines as he spoke. The people present there captured this entire incident on camera.

Witnesses later added context, saying that the woman's group of five had occupied five rows of seats – about 20 in total – as if the seats were theirs. The clash reportedly began when Taiwanese passengers pointed at seat hoardings.

Their reasoning appears to be that since "Taiwan is part of China", Taiwanese people should follow the demand of mainland tourists.

The audience did not like this argument. One user joked, "If Taiwan is China, everyone is equal – so why should anyone listen to your seat-grabbing?"

Other comments piled up, igniting a backlash online.
